Rie Aruga will start a new manga series

One year after the Perfect World manga ended, Rie Aruga will return with a new work. It will be with a story titled Koujou Yakei which will start serializing in the number 13 this year’s seinen magazine Morning of the Kodansha publishing house, which will go on sale in the Japanese market next Thursday February 24th. Koujou Yakei is the third work published by Rie Aruga after the manga Oruto no Kumo kara Y Perfect World, both published in Kodansha’s Kiss magazine. The first one is a six-chapter josei published in 2013. The following year, in February 2014, the publication of Perfect World began, his most recognized work to date.

Rie Aruga started publishing Perfect World in the pages of Kodansha’s Kiss magazine in 2014 and since then, the work’s popularity has only increased. Proof of this was his nomination and consequent award for best shôjo manga at the 43 Kodansha Manga Awards 2019. Finally the work concluded in January 2021 and was compiled in 12 volumes. ECC Editions has published this work in Spain, being fully edited and translated into Spanish. In addition, this manga has a live-action film adaptation, as well as a television drama. While the first premiered in October 2018, being directed by Kenji Shibayama and starring Takanori Iwatamember of the bands J Soul Brothers and EXILE, and hana sugisaki (The Sword of the Immortal, Bleach); the second ended its broadcast on Japanese television in June 2019 with 10 episodes. In the small screen version the protagonists are played by Tori Matsuzaka (Death Note: The New World) and Mizuki Yamamoto (Peach Girl). Source: Manga Mogura RE
