Qualcomm launched a new initiative to promote Snapdragon processors in wearable devices last July. With this it is intended increase the presence of its processors in watches and other devices, beyond mobile phones, which accompany us on a day-to-day basis. A new leak from WinFuture reveals that the new Snapdragon Wear 5100 and 5100+ processors are in the works and that they will come with a performance boost from the previous generation Snapdragon Wear 4100 that has not been seen in many devices.
The Snapdragon Wear 5100 features 4 Cortex A53 cores based on ARM that can reach up to 1.7 GHz, the included GPU is the Adreno 702 running up to 700 MHz. control two cameras and record 1080p videoand have LPDDR4x memory along with eMMC 5.1 storage.
The new Snapdreagon Wear 5100 platform uses MLP technology to separate the SoC and power manager and uses a MEP package with the integrated Soc and PMIC. The Snapdragon Wear 5100+ model includes a coprocessor based on the Cortex M55 of ARM present in some bluetooth devices such as headphones. This coprocessor will handle data and Bluetooth connections while the main processor is left for other more demanding tasks.
