This Wednesday aniplex has given the surprise after announcing that the Japanese role-playing game NieR:Automata has served as inspiration for a animated series for television. Aside from this announcement, a teaser website has been opened and a 30-second video has been released confirming the production of the anime and showing a sketch of Android 2B. The announcement coincides with the 5th anniversary of the game’s release in Japan.

NieR:Automata is an RPG set in the same universe as Nier that was released in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Windows and on Xbox One in 2018. Developed by Platinum Games and distributed by Square Enix, both the story, the plot, the charisma of the characters and playable mechanics, the game convinced both critics and the public, selling more than 4 million copies in May 2019. Takahisa Taura and Isao Negishi were the game designers and Yoko TarĊ he was the creative and director as he was with the first Nier. Regarding the animated adaptation of it, many details of it are still unknown but they will be revealed in the coming months through the website and social networks.
