A BIOS for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti unlocks its power limits up to 890W

MegaSizeGPU posted a screenshot of GPU-Z on Twitter. – an application used to display all of our GPU data – showing a power cap of 890W for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti. To unlock this much power, a VBIOS XOC designed for extreme overclocking has been used.confirming at least that it works on ASUS TUF graphics cards.

As expected, this type of BIOS is not intended for regular home use, but rather is used in overclocking competitions where exotic cooling solutions are used, such as liquid nitrogen or helium. It is because of that they are also often paired with specific graphics cards such as EVGA KINGPIN or GALAX HOF, which have two 16-pin power connectors. As we see in Videocardz, this VBIOS seems to be compatible with more cards beyond the ASUS TUF, such as the EVGA FTW3, but both models are limited to a single 16-pin connector, limiting the total consumption to just over 600W, something undesirable in an extreme overclock competition.

We can find the VBIOS in this TechPowerUp link, since MegaSizeGPU has taken the trouble to provide the file publicly so that everyone can use it.
